About This Site

TIN LY, an immigrant from Vietnam, has been working as a professional artist in South Florida since 1980. He received the Visual and Media Artist Fellowship from the South Florida Cultural Consortium in 1990 and 1998. He had also received the Individual Artist Fellowship from the Florida Arts Council in 1986 and 1994. In 2000, he was honored with a Moretti Award for Artistic Achievement from the Cultural Foundation of Broward.

Ly, an assistant to the late sculptor Duane Hanson, had worked as the Conservation Manager for Broward County Public Art & Design Program from 1999 to 2013. He maintains a working studio in South Florida. His work has been exhibited widely in museums and galleries throughout the United States and Hong Kong, and is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale, the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, and Boca Raton Museum of Art, among others. His most recent one-person exhibition entitled “Tin Ly: Substance and shadow” was mounted at Vero Beach Museum of Art in 2003; and “Tin Ly: Morphing Forms” at Coral Springs Museum of Art in 2006.
